Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences (RCMAS)was established in 2005, as a self-financing institution which is part of the Rajagiri Vidyapeetham, and is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. It is founded on the vision of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the visionary founder of the first indigenous religious congregation for men, Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI) formed in 1831 in the Syrian Catholic tradition of Christianity in India. RCMAS has been accredited with an A Grade in the First Cycle of NAAC. RCMAS has participated in NIRF and KIRF rankings (KIRF Rank Band 100-150) and is ISO 9001:2015 certified for its UG and PG programs. The institution has a total of 1756 students and 74 faculty.
Starting as a minor undergraduate college with two programmes in an “Ettukettu” in 2005, the expansion and growth of RCMAS as a Higher Education Institution that offers eleven undergraduate programmes and three postgraduate programmesby2025 March. The HEI offers undergraduate programmes in Commerce, Management, Computer Science, Animation and Graphic Design, English, Social Work and Psychology, and three postgraduate programmes in Finance and Taxation, Graphic Design and Artificial Intelligence. The BBA and BCA programmes are AICTE approved. Additionally, RCMAS is recognized as a UN Peace League Institution, in the International Peace20 Youth Summit 2023, a Green Institution by Haritha Keralam Mission and holds an FSSAI Registration Certificate too. The College provides 22 certificate and value-added courses as part of Rajagiri Academic Centre for Excellence (RACE) to boost students’ skills and employability. RCMAS has consistently produced several university rank holders since 2008. While considering the top ten rank holders in M.G. University, the College bagged 162 ranks from 2019 to 2024 and 45 ranks in 2025 with a pass percentage highest in the university. This stands as a standing testimonial to the academic excellence of the College.
Innovation and entrepreneurship among students and staff is fostered through the innovation hub. The College effectively uses its platforms like Rajagiri Sparsh– the hub of all extension and outreach activities, Alumni Association- RCMAS Empowered Alumni for Community and Heritage (REACH), RCMAS Initiative for Global Outcomes in Research (RIGOR), National Service Scheme (NSS), Intellectual Property Right (IPR) Cell, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) and Institution Innovation Council (IIC) for this purpose. The Career Guidance and Placement Cell offers comprehensive training to equip students to be future-ready. As a result, around 1380 students progressed to higher studies and 790 students were placed in various firms and companies over the past 6 years.
