GenAI and Prompt Engineering

The GenAI and Prompt Engineering programme is a comprehensive, industry-focused course offered by ASAP Kerala, a Government of Kerala initiative, as an online programme aimed at equipping learners with essential skills in Generative Artificial Intelligence and prompt engineering. The programme provides a strong foundation in how modern AI models such as ChatGPT function and how they can be effectively used across various industries.

The course begins with cloud fundamentals and AI workloads, enabling learners to understand cloud-based AI services and platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure. Core concepts in Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing are covered to build both conceptual clarity and practical understanding. Special emphasis is given to Generative AI, Large Language Models, and responsible AI practices in line with Microsoft’s guidelines.

Advanced prompt engineering techniques are introduced to help learners design effective prompts, build contextual interactions, and tailor AI outputs for different professional and academic use cases. The programme also includes Python fundamentals to support development and implementation skills. Applied project modules guide learners through problem identification, solution design, risk assessment, documentation, and deployment.

A major highlight is the independent project, where participants develop a fully functional real-time chatbot application while ensuring ethical and legal compliance. The programme concludes with structured preparation for the Microsoft AI-900 (Azure AI Fundamentals) certification, including mock exams and revision sessions.
