Lingua Franca

Lingua Franca is the official literary and language association of the Department of English at Rajagiri College of Management and Applied Sciences (RCMAS), Kakkanad, Kochi. Established as a platform for intellectual engagement, creative expression and communicative excellence, the association brings together students and faculty in a shared pursuit of language, literature and the spoken word.

The name “Lingua Franca” — derived from the historical bridge-language that enabled communication across diverse cultures — embodies the association’s foundational belief that language is the greatest connector of human minds. Just as a lingua franca transcends linguistic boundaries, the association aspires to transcend disciplinary silos, encouraging cross-disciplinary dialogue, cultural exchange and academic curiosity.

• To provide students of English a dynamic forum for literary exploration, language practice and creative expression.
